April 30, 2024•Symington Family Estates has announced the latest luxury Port in the W. & J. Graham’s family of fortified wines: 50 Year Old Tawny Port. The wine carries a suggested price of $600 a bottle and will be available in the U.S. in both 750-ml. and 4.5-liter bottles beginning in the fall. The blend is primarily made up of two wines—one from 1969 and one from 1970—that were produced right around the Symington family’s acquisition of Graham’s in 1970. After 50 years, the company reports that over half of both wines have evaporated. The new release sits alongside a 40-year-old Tawny Port in Graham’s Aged Tawny Collection.

•Argentine winery Catena is debuting a new U.S. campaign centered on its expertise in Malbec. It features members of the Catena family and aims to create a “visual allegory for Argentina’s love of Malbec.” The multi-channel ad campaign will run across billboards, out-of-home activations, and social media. The Catena brand has had U.S. volume of approximately 170,000 cases in recent years.
•Tennessee’s Chattanooga Whiskey has announced the Founder’s 12th Anniversary Blend, set to hit shelves early in May. This year’s edition is made from Chattanooga’s 1812 solera (12%), Barrel 91 (60% of this release), and the distillery’s infinity solera (28%), with the trio bringing together high-rye Bourbon, high-malt whiskey, and additional malt and rye whiskies. The new release is now available at the company’s Experimental Distilling and will be available early next month in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin for a suggested price of $60 a bottle. In additional, a small quantity of the whiskey will be available DTC through Seelbach’s.
