May 24, 2024•Larceny’s Latest Barrel Proof Batch, Peerless Rum Finished, and newcomers from Maverick Distilling and 13th Colony are among the offerings featured in Whisky Advocate’s latest weekly roundup. The website has all the details.
•Maison Telmont, majority-owned by Rémy Cointreau, is introducing Réserve de la Terre, a new Champagne made from organic grapes. The extra-brut Champagne has a low-sugar dosage (2.5 grams per liter) and is a blend of 44% Meunier, 34% Chardonnay, and 22% Pinot Noir from the 2020, 2019, and 2018 vintages. It’s debuting in a global supply of 64,800 bottles (5,400 cases). Actor and environmental activist Leonardo DiCaprio is an investor in Telmont.
•Dallas, Texas-based Triple Dog Irish Whiskey has expanded its distribution footprint, entering Idaho, southern California, and Arizona. To reach these new markets, Triple Dog has partnered with distributors NorthStar Spirits in Idaho, Brown Bag Beverage in southern California, and Scout Distribution in Arizona. This expansion brings Triple Dog to six states, including Colorado, Florida, and Texas. Triple Dog Irish Whiskey is bottled at 40% abv and carries a suggested price of $40 a bottle.
•San Francisco’s Hotaling & Co. has appointed Steph Barlow as export manager as the company looks to further develop its overseas presence. Barlow joins Hotaling from Breakthru Beverage and has previous experience at Hotaling stakeholder Berry Bros. & Rudd. In her new role, Barlow will first work to further establish Junipero Gin and Hirsch Select Whiskey in the E.U., the U.K., and Japan.
