Jackson Family Wines Enters Champagne Category With Deal To Import Henriot
June 3, 2024California-based wine giant Jackson Family Wines has expanded into the Champagne category with a deal to handle the Henriot brand in the U.S. market. Effective in July, the new agreement will bring Champagne Henriot to “a wider audience in the U.S.,” according to Jackson Family CEO Rick Tigner.
Key wines in the range include Brut Souverain ($60), Blanc de Blancs ($80), Rosé NV ($80), Vintage 2012 ($120), and Cuvee Hemera 2008 ($230). Henriot has U.S. volume of around 10,000 cases annually, out of a global total of 80,000 cases.
Henriot noted that the deal with Jackson Family will allow it to boost distribution in the on-premise and independent retailers. Terroirs et Vignerons de Champagne (TEVC), also the owner of Nicolas Feuillatte, acquired Henriot from Artemis Domaines last year for an undisclosed sum.
For Jackson Family, the move to enter Champagne comes shortly after it made landfall in the American whiskey segment with the launch of Stonestreet Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Founder’s Edition, retailing at $60 and bottled at 47% abv.—Daniel Marsteller
