•Proximo Spirits is extending its Gran Centenario Tequila brand at the high end with Gran Centenario Gallardo, honoring its founder Don Lázaro Gallardo. The collectible bottling is aged in American and French oak barrels and finished in Bordeaux wine barrels. Only 679 bottles are available nationwide, retailing at $600 apiece. One of the founding fathers of Tequila, Gallardo introduced new techniques to the industry when the brand was founded in 1857. The Gran Centenario brand grew 5% to 242,000 cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank.

•New York-based Frederick Wildman and Sons has become the exclusive U.S. importer for New Zealand’s Mt. Beautiful winery. The deal builds on the companies’ existing relationship—Wildman currently handles the portfolio in New York and New Jersey—with Wildman now handling Mt. Beautiful in all 50 states. Mt. Beautiful’s portfolio consists of Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and rosé, among others, all made from grapes grown in North Canterbury, New Zealand.

•Foley Family Wines’ Ferrari-Carano is debuting a new Pinot Grigio from Fruili Grave in Italy. Concurrently, the brand has named Italian chef, author, and digital and social media personality Nadia Caterina Munno, also known as The Pasta Queen, as a new brand ambassador and spokesperson. Ferrari-Carano’s Italian Pinot Grigio is launching nationally at $25 a bottle. Foley acquired California-based Ferrari-Carano in 2020 for approximately $250 million.

•Campari America is introducing a new Reposado Double Cask expression to its Mayenda Tequila portfolio. Retailing at $75 a bottle, the newcomer is aged for six months in a mix of American and European oak. It’s a follow-up to the initial Mayenda Blanco, billed as the first Tequila infused with both roasted agave and agave miel (honey). Mayenda Reposado Double Cask is rolling out to select retailers in the U.S. and Mexico. The brand is made in Arandas, Jalisco at Casa San Nicolás (NOM 1440).

•Sonoma’s Rodney Strong is launching a new Alexander Valley Sauvignon Blanc. The “Fumé-style” limited offering retails at $24 and was aged 54% in 400-liter French Oak barrels—most of which were new oak—45% in stainless steel, and the final 1% in a ceramic egg. Noting that “the California Sauvignon Blanc segment is continuously growing,” Rodney Strong vice president of marketing Erica Odden said the new bottling is catering to consumer demand. It’s debuting now in national retail and online.

•Pantalones, the Tequila brand from Matthew and Camila McConaughey and spirits entrepreneur Andrew Chrisomalis, has launched a new summer ad campaign, the next step in brand’s wider “Official Tequila Of” campaign. The new spot features Alice Cooper’s classic rock hit “School’s Out,” with Matthew and Camila celebrating summer break with Margaritas. The new ad runs as part of the wider “Official Tequila Of” campaign which covers print, digital, social, and out-of-home channels.
