June 12, 2024•Palm Bay International has been named the importer of record for Cipriani Drinks—a line of wines, spirits, and ready-to-drink cocktails from the renowned Cipriani restaurant and lifestyle brand. The range includes the Original Bellini ($20), Cipriani Prosecco DOC ($20), Cipriani Rosé Brut ($20), Cipriani Amaro 7 Parti ($37), and Cipriani London Dry Gin ($37). The partnership is effective immediately nationwide.
•In Whisky Advocate’s latest auction update, Macallan took the top position once again in May, but Dalmore and Old Fitzgerald finished second and third, respectively, ending Macallan’s four-month run of sweeping the first three spots. The 20 highest-selling bottles of whisky at auction in May were valued at a total of $797,967, and it was an eclectic list that featured nine labels from Scotland, six from Japan, four from the U.S., and one from Ireland. In terms of specific names, the ever-present Macallan and Karuizawa led the field with four entries each, while Dalmore, Van Winkle, and Hanyu Ichiro’s Malt Card Series each had two. The other leading names included Willett, Midleton Very Rare, Bowmore, and Brora. Here’s the full story.
•E11even vodka is entering the New York market, distributed by RNDC/Opici. The Miami-based brand retails at $23 a 750-ml. and $32 a 1-liter, and has grown quickly in its home Florida market after launching in 2020. Other markets include Kentucky and Montreal, Canada. The vodka brand is licensed by the E11even nightclub, hotel, and residences in Miami Beach.
•Next Century Spirits has added a second whiskey to the Bear Fight brand with a new Tequila barrel-finished Bourbon. The whiskey is sourced from Kentucky and made from a mash of 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley. After its initial maturation the whiskey is transferred to casks used to age Reposado Tequila for finishing. Bear Fight Kentucky Reserve is bottled at 45% abv and carries a suggested price of $35 with initial distribution in Connecticut, Kentucky, Illinois, Minnesota, and New Jersey. Additional markets will follow later this year.
