Longtime RNDC COO Bob Hendrickson Transitioning To Advisory Role
June 12, 2024After nearly four decades with Republic National Distributing Co. (RNDC) and its precursors, company COO Bob Hendrickson is transitioning to an advisory role as senior commercial advisor, effective August 2. In his new role, Hendrickson will advise RNDC’s commercial leaders on execution standards, talent development and supplier pursuits, according to the company.
There are no immediate plans to fill the COO role, RNDC told SND. With Hendrickson’s transition, Taylor Sommer will continue to lead the RNDC sales organization as chief sales officer, while Dave Lane remains chief supplier and growth officer. They both report to president and CEO Nick Mehall.
Hendrickson has been with RNDC since its inception in 1997, when the former Tarrant Company and Julius Schepps Company merged to create Republic Beverage Company, followed by the addition of National Distributing Company in 2006. He began his drinks industry career with Gallo in Los Angeles, before serving for a decade with Julius Schepps.
In 2009, Hendrickson assumed his current role as executive vice president and chief operating officer of RNDC. Over the years, he’s played an integral role in building the company into the national wholesaler it is today, with a presence across 39 states and D.C. and projected 2024 revenues of $12.2 billion, according to Shanken’s Impact Newsletter.
“While his contributions have undoubtedly made a lasting impact on this organization, I most value the legacy of his mentorship and leadership and look forward to his next chapter here at RNDC,” said Mehall.—Daniel Marsteller
