Cannabis Sales Climb 7% In June: BDSA
July 9, 2024June cannabis sales increased by 6.6% year-over-year to $2 billion in 13 states across the U.S., according to new data from analytics firm BDSA. The data covers sales in the western markets of Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, and Oregon; and Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania in the East. Individual states ranged from 114.9% growth to $91.8 million in sales in Maryland to a 13.8% decline to $96.4 million in Arizona when compared to June 2023.
In general, trends were positive with California, Nevada, Colorado, and Oregon seeing both sequential and year-over-year growth. In the East, all states except Missouri saw year-over-year growth for June, with sequential growth more of a mixed bag: Florida, Massachusetts, Michigan, and New Jersey saw gains while the remaining eastern markets declined compared to May.—Shane English
