July 31, 2024•Avaline, the wine brand from Cameron Diaz and Katherine Power, is extending with a Lambrusco bottling. Retailing at $30, the limited edition Lambrusco is at bottled at 11% abv and can be served chilled, over ice, or in Spritz cocktails. Avaline, which features red and white blends from multiple origins, along with Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc varietals, jumped 78% to 142,000 9-liter cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank.
•Brown-Forman’s Woodford Reserve has launched Blended Malt, the latest addition to Versailles, Kentucky-based brand’s Distillery Series. The 45.2% abv whiskey is blended from two component whiskies: one a 100% malt whiskey matured in used oak and finished in Ruby Port casks and the other distilled from a blend of five different styles of malt grain matured in new oak. Blended Malt carries a suggested price of $65 a 375-ml. and is available in select retailers in Kentucky and at Woodford Reserve’s distillery. Last year, Woodford Reserve was up 11.1% to 1.42 million cases in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.
•Foley Family Wines & Spirits has appointed Lindsey Eddy-Cort as senior vice president, direct-to-consumer, overseeing the DTC business, including club membership, e-commerce, and guest experiences for Foley’s 17 winery estates and distilleries in California, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada. A two-decade veteran of fine wine hospitality and sales, Eddy-Cort most recently served as vice president of consumer sales and hospitality at Kirin-owned Distinguished Vineyards & Wine Partners.
•Sonoma-based 3 Badge Beverage Corporation has announced a packaging refresh for Oregon wine brand Cedar + Salmon, beginning with the winery’s 2023 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. The refresh incorporates elements from the Pacific Northwest landscape and features a cut cedar tree on a blank canvas and new foil accents. The newly adorned Pinot Noir carries a suggested price of $25 a bottle. The refreshed packaging will come to Cedar + Salmon’s 2024 Willamette Valley Pinot Gris on its release.
