Southern Glazer’s has announced undisclosed investments to drive growth moving forward, including outlays backing its commercial sales, digital, and supply chain functions.
“From a commercial perspective, Southern Glazer’s has retooled its route to market in five states, adding more than 200 individuals,” said chief commercial officer John Wittig. “We have also restructured our service model for the convenience store channel, an area seeing rapid growth, adding nearly 175 resources in more than seven markets and evaluating incremental investments in an additional 10 markets.”

Gene Sullivan, chief sales and marketing officer, added that SGWS has “bolstered capabilities and resources to support national accounts, a critical customer segment of the business. This includes purchasing category leading data packages highlighting both shopper and consumer insights … and strengthening customer development and category management teams.”

Other areas of investment include new distribution centers in Louisiana, Missouri, Nevada and South Carolina, as well as in an additional facility in Kentucky, plus upgrades on the digital side. “Following the appointment of our new chief digital officer Alan Wizemann in 2023, the company is currently building a more than 350-member digital team to support a new product and platform operating model to effectively build, design, scale, and operate best-in-class digital solutions,” said chief growth officer David Chaplin.
