August 1, 2024•Teeling Irish Whiskey, part of the Bacardi portfolio, has partnered with Notre Dame Athletics to release a limited edition bottling of the Irish distiller’s Small Batch whiskey. The special edition bottling features Notre Dame’s official gold color and label accents. The liquid inside is a 46% abv whiskey aged for up to six years in used Bourbon casks before a six-month rum cask finish. The limited edition ($35 a bottle) is now available in retailers across the U.S. Teeling had U.S. volume of 22,000 cases last year, according to Impact Databank.
•Napa Valley-based Far Niente Wines Estates has partnered with consulting winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown to bolster its Cabernet Sauvignon programs. Brown has already contributed to new high-end releases in the Far Niente range. They include Far Niente Benson Vale Cabernet Sauvignon, a prestige wine from the Stelling Vineyard selling at $500 a bottle, and Bella Union Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon, selling at $220. Also new from Bella Union are estate blends La Gemma, $155, predominately Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Merlot; Cultivist, $130, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon; and Liaison, $110, a blend of Malbec, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
