August 6, 2024•Green River Distilling Co. has announced 1885 Kentucky Straight Bourbon whiskey, the latest release from the Owensboro-based distiller, which is part of Bardstown Bourbon Company.The new whiskey is named for the year Green River was initially established. It’s made from a mash of 76% corn, 15% rye, and 9% malted barley and aged for at least four years before bottling at 42.5% abv. The whiskey will initially be available in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Michigan, Texas, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington, D.C. in 1-liter bottles for a suggested price of $22.
•Hood River, Oregon’s Kyla has launched Colada Crush, a new flavor of hard kombucha, alongside a new variety pack. The new flavor combines coconut, pineapple, and yuzu and is at 6.5% abv with 130 calories per 12-ounce can. In the new variety pack, Colada Crush is joined by Lychee Lemonade and Sunset Trio (also at 130 calories and 6.5% abv). The Tropical Trio variety 6-pack is now available across the U.S. in select Whole Foods, Kroger, and Sprouts Farmers Market locations.
•Dundee Hills, Oregon’s Sokol Blosser Winery has realigned distribution in five markets across the U.S. Effective now, wines from Sokol Blosser and Evolution will be distributed by Maverick Beverage in Florida and Texas, Galaxy Wine Company in Oregon and Washington, and Armada Distribution in Oklahoma. The company has also streamlined its sales department with vice president of sales Barron Beltz leading global sales, Shannon Eastman becoming director of sales for the west, Sara Manucy becoming director of sales for the east, and Emily Zegar becoming export broker.
