September 5, 2024•Proximo has added a new spicy flavored Tequila to the Jose Cuervo family. The new release is called Devil’s Reserve and is a 30% abv Tequila with natural flavors that, according to the company, brings a blend of sweetness with spice. Devil’s Reserve is now available in select retailers across the U.S., where it carries a suggested price of $21 a 750-ml. For 2023, Jose Cuervo was at just over five million cases in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.
•Jackson Family Wines’ La Crema has expanded into Cabernet Sauvignon, with a new Sonoma County appellated wine from the 2022 vintage. The new Cab was made by winemakers Craig McAllister and Lisa Valtenbergs and includes a small percentage of Merlot and Petit Verdot. The fruit is sourced from vineyards across the Alexander Mountain, Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley and Bennet Valley regions. La Crema’s Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon is now available across the U.S. for a suggested price of $45 a bottle. Last year, La Crema was at 1.4 million cases in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.
•Rémy Cointreau has announced the Botanist Distiller’s Strength, a new higher-proof take on the Islay gin from the Bruichladdich distillery. The 50% abv expression uses the same 22 botanicals as the flagship release but with an abv designed to better stand up to strong flavored ingredients in cocktails. The Botanist Distiller’s Strength carries a suggested price of $45 a 750-ml. and is a U.S. exclusive, now available in retailers across the nation. Last year, the Botanist grew 4% to 89,000 cases, according to Impact Databank.
•Country star Dierks Bentley has teamed up with Green River Distilling Co. for Row 94, a new Bourbon brand. The 47% abv whiskey is bottled at four years old and made from a mash of 70% Kentucky-grown corn, 21% rye, and 9% malted and row barley. It carries a suggested price of $40 a 750-ml. and is currently available in Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida, Colorado, and Arizona, with additional states coming in 2025. Green River Distilling is part of Bardstown Bourbon Company.
