September 6, 2024•Diageo has released Baileys Cinnamon Churros, the latest limited time offering from the Irish Cream brand. The 17% abv liqueur is accompanied by the “Don’t Churro Solo” marketing campaign, running mobile out-of-home ads in New York City, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago and Miami. The new release is now available across the U.S. for a suggested price of $25 a 750-ml. Last year, Baileys was at 1.5 million cases in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.
•Mijenta Tequila has released Maestra Selection No. 1, the first in a new line of yearly releases showcasing Maestra Tequilera Ana María Romero. The first release is a Blanco Tequila made from single-estate agave grown in Presa de Otomites. The spirit is bottled at 50% abv and carries a suggested price of $100 a 750-ml. Maestra Selection No. 1 is now available through the brand’s website and in select retailers across the U.S. Mijenta Tequila was founded by former Bacardi CEO Mike Dolan.
•Kentucky’s Bardstown Bourbon Company has announced two new whiskies, just in time for Bourbon Heritage Month. The first whiskey, Silver Oak Finish, blends six Bourbons, aged between nine and 15 years, and sourced from Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, and Georgia. The blend spent 17 months finishing in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels from Silver Oak before bottling at 54% abv. Silver Oak Finish carries a suggested price of $160. The second new whiskey from BBC is the 12th release in the company’s Discover series. The latest addition blends four Kentucky Straight Bourbons with 48% of the blend a 14-year-old whiskey, 29% at 10 years old, 15% a different 10-year-old Bourbon, and 8% a 6-year-old whiskey distilled and aged by Bardstown. Discovery Series 12 is bottled at 57.6% abv and carries a suggested price of $140. Both whiskies will hit retail shelves beginning September 6.
•Bacardi’s Ilegal mezcal has added a new cask-finished Reposado mezcal to its portfolio for a limited time. Ilegal Reposado Caribbean Cask Finish is bottled at 42% abv and is first matured for 4 to 6 months in American oak casks before being transferred to 215 casks that held Caribbean rum. The mezcal is finished for two months in the ex-rum barrels and carries a suggested price of $50.
•Memphis, Tennessee’s Blue Note Bourbon has entered Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Michigan, amid a wider distribution realignment. In Massachusetts and Rhode Island, the company has enlisted Bay State Wine & Spirits and in Michigan Blue Note has partnered with Benchmark Beverage Company. In addition, Blue Note has shifted its distributors in New York and New Jersey, signing on with RNDC in the former state and Opici in the latter. Beyond the brand’s U.S. expansion, Blue Note Bourbon is now available in Alberta, Canada through Evergreen Beverage Canada.
