September 10, 2024•Los Angeles-based Blaze Mota is releasing a hemp-derived THC version of its Mota’lada, a non-alcoholic ready-to-drink michelada, next month. The Mota’lada is made with non-alcoholic Mexican Lager and a michelada base of tomato, lime, and spices. It contains 10mg of hemp-derived THC and 2mg of hemp-derived CBD. The original cannabis-infused version hit California’s regulated market in May of last year. Parent company Blaze Life Holdings was founded by Los Angeles real estate investor Scott Kim and Paul Burgis, former COO and CFO of Los Angeles-based Golden Road Brewing, which was acquired by Anheuser-Busch Inbev in 2015.
•Multistate operator Trulieve, with annual sales of $1.2 billion, continues to expand in the Florida market, opening five new medical dispensaries in recent days. They include new ouposts in Miramar Beach, Niceville, Tampa, Cocoa, and Clearwater. The new Trulieve locations stock in-house brands Alchemy, Co2lors, Cultivar Collection, Modern Flower, Momenta, Muse, Roll One, Sweet Talk, and Trekkers, as well as partner brands like Alien Labs, Bellamy Brothers, Binske, Black Tuna, Blue River, Connected Cannabis, DeLisioso, Khalifa Kush, Love’s Oven, Miami Mango, O.pen, Seed Junky, and Sunshine Cannabis. Trulieve is a major backer of the upcoming ballot initiative to legalize adult-use sales in Florida.
