Whisky Advocate: Jimmy Russell Marks 70 Years At Wild Turkey

Master distiller Jimmy Russell got his start sweeping Wild Turkey’s floors in 1954, when he was 18 years old. This year, he marks 70 years at the distillery, continuing to work five to six days a week, along with his son Eddie, now master distiller, and grandson Bruce, associate blender. Wild Turkey is now launching Jimmy Russell’s 70th Anniversary Bourbon, an eight-year-old whiskey bottled at 101 proof and retailing at $50 a bottle, into national distribution.
