William Grant & Sons Names Diageo Veteran As CMO
October 14, 2024William Grant & Sons has appointed Diageo veteran Andrew Geoghegan as global chief marketing officer, effective November 4. Geoghegan was most recently chief marketing transformation officer at international consumer goods business PZ Cussons, a role he assumed following 13 years in the spirits industry with Diageo.
During his time with Diageo, Geoghegan held several leadership positions with responsibility for shaping brand strategy and consumer insights across their portfolio, William Grant noted, culminating in a six-year period as global consumer planning director.
At William Grant, which had sales of $2.6 billion last year, he will assume marketing leadership for a portfolio including single malt Scotch whiskies Glenfiddich and The Balvenie, Hendrick’s Gin, Milagro Tequila, Sailor Jerry Rum, and Grant’s blended Scotch, among others. In addition to the existing portfolio, William Grant recently agreed to acquire the Famous Grouse and Naked Malt blended Scotch labels from Edrington for an undisclosed sum.—Daniel Marsteller
