October 22, 2024•Hemp-derived THC producers and retailers including Cann, Pamos, Wynk, Spec’s, and ABC Fine Wine & Spirits have come together for form the Coalition for Adult Beverage Alternatives (CABA), a new advocacy group aiming to codify hemp-derived THC regulations at the federal level. The group has formed in response to crackdowns on hemp-derived THC drinks in states across the U.S. CABA and its members argue that the industry’s bad actors can be weeded out through proper regulation. “Our goal is to educate lawmakers on the safety and positive impact of low-dose THC beverages in adult Americans’ lives and to demonstrate how different these drinks are from risky, highly intoxicating products marketed to children by bad actors today,” said Jake Bullock, CEO of Cann. “Adults expect and should be allowed to buy safe, low-dose THC beverages in the same places that alcohol is sold, with a strict 21+ age restriction.”
