October 23, 2024• Suntory Global Spirits has announced a new limited-edition, high-rye Bourbon from single barrel brand Baker’s. The whiskey, bottled at 53.5% abv, is made with twice as much rye as the typical Baker’s mashbill and ages for at least seven years. The whiskey is rolling out now in limited quantities across the U.S. and carries a suggested price of $75 a 750-ml. This new release follows Baker’s 13-Year-Old, the last limited release from the brand.
• Champagne Barons de Rothschild is launching Triptyque 2018, its latest vintage cuvée. Made by cellar master Guillaume Lété, Triptyque 2018 is a blend of three Grands Crus: Avize, Ambonnay and Aÿ. Champagne Barons de Rothschild is a partnership among the three branches of the Rothschild family, represented by Philippe Sereys de Rothschild (Château Mouton Rothschild), Ariane de Rothschild (Château Clarke – Groupe Edmond de Rothschild), and Eric and his daughter Saskia (Château Lafite Rothschild).
• Innovations from Jameson, Woodford, and WhistlePig, along with newcomers from Westland and ImpEx are among the offerings featured in Whisky Advocate’s latest weekly roundup. The website has all the details.
• Green River Distilling Co., part of Bardstown Bourbon Co., has announced a new tasting room on Louisville, Kentucky’s Whiskey Row, set to open in mid-2025. The new location features a bar, retail shop, performance space, a semi-hidden speakeasy for special events and a unique cocktail program. The new Green River tasting room is located down the street from parent company Bardstown Bourbon’s own tasting room.
• Cooper & Thief, part of The Wine Group portfolio, is introducing a new Bourbon barrel-aged Cabernet Sauvignon. The California Cab was finished for three months in Bourbon barrels and retails at $30 a bottle. It’s now rolling out nationwide. The Wine Group acquired Cooper & Thief from Constellation along with five other brands in late 2022. Cooper & Thief had U.S. volume of 115,000 cases last year, according to Impact Databank.
