Concha y Toro’s Nine-Month Sales Rise Despite Q3 Slowdown

November 7, 2024

U.S. sales for Viña Concha y Toro grew 21% to just under $100 million in the first nine months of this year on a volume increase of 16% to 2.4 million cases. The solid results came despite a slowdown in the third quarter, in which sales dipped 2.3% on volume down 4% to 611,000 cases.

Imported brands like Frontera, Trivento Reserve, and Casillero del Diablo have shown double-digit growth in the U.S. this year, the company said, while California label Bonterra is up 8% in Circana channels in the year-to-date. In the third quarter, the slowdown was attributed to “solid growth in the first half of the year, a slightly more demanding comparison base, a lower average price in dollars, and increased competition in the alcohol segment, particularly during the summer.”

Overall, Viña Concha y Toro posted global sales up 17% to $702 million for the first nine months of 2024, as volume increased 3% to 23.5 million cases. EBITDA jumped 74% to $107 million. According to Impact Databank, Viña Concha y Toro ranked seventh among all wine marketers globally last year at 29 million cases, including 3.1 million cases in the U.S. market.–Daniel Marsteller
