Fertitta Becomes Largest Shareholder In Wynn Resorts
November 15, 2024Tilman Fertitta, the billionaire owner of Landry’s restaurant group, the Golden Nugget, and the Houston Rockets, has become the largest individual shareholder in Wynn Resorts, CNBC reported. With a 9.9% passive stake in the company, he has overtaken co-founder Elaine Wynn, who left the board in 2020.
Wynn Resorts includes the flagship Wynn Las Vegas luxury resort on the Strip, as well as two resorts in Macao and a 40% stake in a new resort project in the United Arab Emirates. Fertitta’s move builds on his existing profile in Las Vegas, which already includes the Golden Nugget, as well as plans for a new 43-story resort on the Strip.
