The Wine Group Sells Concannon To Lemmons And Kent Families

December 2, 2024

The Wine Group has agreed to sell 230-acre estate winery and vineyard Concannon to Lemmons Family Vineyards and Darcie Kent Winery for an undisclosed sum. Based in Livermore, California, Concannon was founded in 1883 and has been part of The Wine Group since 2004.

“We will be phasing out the international bottling operations and concentrate on re-planting the vineyards to the historic grape varietals, such as Cab Franc and Sauvignon Blanc, that made Livermore famous in the 1880s, without losing sight of Concannon’s pioneering efforts with Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah,” said Lemmons Family owners Tom and Paige Lemmons.

David and Darcie Kent, owners of Darcie Kent Estate Winery, will lead winery operations at Concannon. David Kent is a former chief executive of The Wine Group. “The sale of Concannon supports The Wine Group’s continuous focus on aligning our portfolio to our long-term goals,” said John Sutton, current CEO of The Wine Group.—Daniel Marsteller
