Report: Diageo Considers Sale Of Cîroc Vodka

After parting ways with disgraced former partner Sean Combs at the beginning of this year, Diageo is reportedly mulling the sale of the Cîroc vodka brand. Bloomberg reported that the drinks behemoth has reached out to potential buyers to gauge interest in a deal, noting that discussions were in early stages and might not lead to a sale.

According to Impact Databank, Cîroc fell 9% to 1.25 million cases in the U.S. last year, down from 1.57 million cases in 2017. Increasingly dependent on new flavor launches in recent years, the upscale vodka label saw net sales decline 28% in North America in the 12 months through June, but could be attractive to potential acquirers due to its prominent position in the nightclub channel.—Daniel Marsteller
