March 10, 2025

Miami-based importer and marketer Ethica Wines has bolstered its Tuscany portfolio with a deal to become the exclusive U.S. importer of Chianti Classico’s Baron Ricasoli. The winery, which dates back to 1141 and includes 240 hectares (593 acres) of vineyards, is known for wines like Chianti Classico Brolio ($24), which recently received 90 points from Wine Spectator, with 10,000 cases imported for the 2022 vintage. Its Chianti Classico Gaiole Colledilà Gran Selezione 2021 (97 points, $95) was among Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines of 2024.

Ethica had estimated U.S. volume of 1.2 million cases and sales of $114 million last year. The Italian wine specialist’s portfolio also includes San Marzano ($15-$39 a bottle) from Puglia and Mastroberardino ($15-$100) from Campania, along with La Gioiosa Prosecco, Villa Sparina in Gavi, and Borgogno, Cordero di Montezemolo, Anselmi, Fattoria Le Pupille, Ca’ dei Frati, Mirafiore, Ridolfi, Movia, and Pico Maccario, among others.—Daniel Marsteller
