March 12, 2025•Israel’s Recanati Winery has announced a trio of new Reserve wines ahead of Passover, set to hit shelves on April 1. Imported by Palm Bay International, the wines include Jacob 2017 ($225), Odem Merlot 2020 ($50) and Odem Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 ($50). Jacob, an icon wine in the Recanati portfolio, is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and wild Carignan, and is only released for exceptional vintages. The pair of Odem wines are sourced from vineyards in Israel’s Golan Heights.
•Mijenta Tequila has released Symphony Series No. 2, the latest limited edition from the additive-free brand. The Reposado Tequila ages for eight months in barrels made from oak sourced from Minnesota, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, before bottling at 45% abv. The release carries a suggested price of $85 a 750-ml. and is available in limited quantities across the U.S. In addition to the Symphony releases, Mijenta—led by former Bacardi CEO Mike Dolan—offers Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, and Cristalino expression, along with other limited releases.
•North Carolina-based Next Century Spirits has acquired Blue Chair Bay rum for an undisclosed sum. The brand was founded by country singer Kenny Chesney, who will now be among the largest owners of Next Century. Blue Chair Bay joins a Next Century portfolio that also includes Nue Vodka, Numbskull—a mint and chocolate-flavored whiskey—Bear Fight Whiskey, Creek Water American Whiskey, Caddy Clubhouse Cocktails, Calamity Gin, and Henderson Whiskey. Blue Chair Bay reached a high-water mark of 227,000 cases in 2021, according to Impact Databank, before falling 160,000 cases last year.
