Italy’s Tommasi Debuts Sicilian Winery Ammura In The U.S.

May 1, 2025

Tommasi Family Estates, imported by Vintus, is introducing its Ammura label from Sicily in the U.S. market. Ammura’s debut release includes an Etna Rosso DOC (100% Nerello Mascalese) and Etna Bianco DOC (100% Carricante). The Valpolicella-based Tommasi family acquired the Mount Etna estate in 2022. It includes 15 hectares (37 acres) of vineyards and a 1,500-square-meter winery.

Including Ammura, the Tommasi family now manages 799 hectares (2,000 acres) of vineyards and eight wine estates across seven regions—Tommasi in Veneto, Tenuta di Caseo in Lombardy, Casisano in Montalcino, Poggio al Tufo in Maremma Toscana, Masseria Surani in Puglia, Paternoster in Basilicata, a project in Orvieto, Umbria, and Ammura on Mount Etna—along partnerships in Chianti Classico with La Massa and in Friuli Venezia Giulia’s Collio with Marco Felluga Russiz Superiore.—Daniel Marsteller
