Southern Glazer’s, Major Brands Case Dismissed In Missouri

Southern Glazer’s announced this morning the resolution of a long-running dispute with Breakthru-owned Major Brands in Missouri involving rights to the Jägermeister brand. In the case, which began in 2018, Major Brands claimed its franchise rights in regard to Jägermeister were violated when the brand moved to Southern in the Missouri market.

After a long court battle, Southern Glazer’s and Jägermeister prevailed in an appellate court, after which Breakthru dismissed the case with prejudice. “Importantly, there was no settlement payment by either Southern Glazer’s or Jägermeister in connection with the dismissal,” Southern Glazer’s noted.—Daniel Marsteller
