News Alert: RNDC Withdraws from California

June 2, 2025

Republic National Distributing Co. is closing its California business. The announcement follows a challenging period in the Golden State for the nation’s second largest wholesaler of spirits and wine. This year in California, RNDC has lost Tito’s vodka, Gallo’s High Noon, and the Brown-Forman portfolio, all to Reyes Beverage Group. In addition to Brown-Forman leaving RNDC in California, the supplier moved away from the distributor in multiple other markets at the end of May.

“We’ve made the difficult business decision to withdraw from California which affects many of the roles in the state. We are complying with all regulatory obligations and are committed to handling every transition thoughtfully and smoothly and ensuring everyone is treated fairly and respectfully,” said CEO Bob Hendrickson. “We are grateful for the support of these employees and will do our best to support them during this time.”—Shane English
