•Bacardi has released the latest limited-edition whisky from Dewar’s, a 19-year-old blended Scotch finished in Calvados barrels. The whisky, part of the brand’s Champions Edition celebrating the U.S. Open of golf, is bottled at 43% abv and carries a suggested price of $80 a 750-ml. This release is the first Champions Edition finished in brandy casks and follows 2024’s rye-cask-finished whisky, with previous years using Bourbon and red wine casks. The limited-time-offering is now available across the U.S. Dewar’s was at 800,000 cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank.

•Shoreham, Vermont’s WhistlePig Whiskey has named Charles Gibb as the company’s new CEO, replacing Jeff Kozak, who departed at the beginning of the year. Gibb comes to WhistlePig with considerable industry experience: in addition to tenures at Bacardi, Diageo, and Moët Hennessy, Gibb launched mixer brand Fever-Tree’s U.S. operations. In his new role, Gibb will lead WhistlePig during a period of growth and expansion, with the brand building out its portfolio of luxury-priced rye and Bourbon whiskies. Moët Hennessy took a minority stake in WhistlePig in 2020.
