July 14, 2025Breakthru Beverage continues to build its California portfolio in the wake of RNDC’s exit from the state, with Italian wine group Zonin 1821 the latest to align with BBG. The deal includes the distribution of Zonin brands like its namesake label, Castello del Poggio, Castello di Albola, and Ca’ Bolani, as well as exclusive third-party labels such as Bocelli 1831, Tensley, and Fundamental Wines.
“Breakthru is a strategic partner for us, with a strong local presence and a vision that aligns perfectly with ours,” said Rob Gelwicks, U.S. general manager of Zonin 1821. “California is a key market, and we are confident that this partnership will help us unlock the full potential of our brands.” Zonin’s namesake Prosecco grew 5% to 420,000 cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank.—Daniel Marsteller
