News Briefs for September 23, 2025
September 23, 2025•Anheuser-Busch InBev has struck a deal with streaming giant Netflix that will see its brands featured across Netflix programming under a multi-year agreement. “The partnership is unprecedented in the global reach and scale of activations across AB InBev’s portfolio of brands,” the company said. AB InBev and Netflix will collaborate on co-marketing campaigns across Netflix global and regional titles like “The Gentlemen” from the U.K., “Brasil 70 – A Saga do Tri” from Brazil, and “Culinary Class Wars” from South Korea among others. The partnership will include consumer activations, title integrations, limited-edition packaging, and digital promotion, and also extend to events like Netflix’s 2025 live NFL Christmas Game Day 2025. AB InBev is the largest brewer in the U.S., with volume of 909 million (2.25-gallon) cases, according to Impact Databank.
•Amaretto Adriatico is introducing Zero, a non-alcoholic amaretto retailing at $32. The newcomer, made in Puglia, Italy, expands Adriatico’s U.S. range, which also includes the flagship Amaretto Adriatico Roasted Almonds expression ($38), along with Bianco, a 16% abv white amaretto ($38). Amaretto Adriatico is made with Filippo Cea almonds from Puglia, Adriatic Sea salt, and half the sweetness of traditional brands, according to the company. The brand is currently present in New York (Empire Merchants), Georgia (Savannah), Connecticut (CDI), Oklahoma (Premium Brands), Maryland and Washington (Breakthru), and will launch in Massachusetts (Martignetti) next month.
•Buzzballz, part of the Sazerac portfolio, is introducing a new Grapes Gone Wild flavor extension. Grapes Gone Wild BuzzBallz are rolling out nationwide this month in 187ml, 200ml, 1.5L, and 1.75L sizes, backed by a national media campaign that includes a retro-style infomercial led by rapper and comedian David Burd, also known as Lil Dicky. Buzzballz Cocktails and Buzzballz Biggies both earned Impact “Hot Brand” awards earlier this year, with volume of 885,000 cases and 830,000 cases last year respectively.
•Correction: In last week’s story on New Zealand wines, the Villa Maria (Winebow) and Yealands (Palm Bay) brands were incorrectly omitted from the chart. Villa Maria had volume of 122,000 cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank, while Yealands was at 70,000 cases. We regret the error.
