Provi, Southern Glazer’s Settle Lawsuit

B2B e-commerce platform Provi and distributor Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits (SGWS) have settled their lawsuit, with Provi now an approved channel for the on- and off-premise to order from Southern Glazer’s vast selection of wines and spirits.

The move follows years of litigation, with Provi suing SGWS and RNDC in March 2022, alleging that the distributors illegally blocked Provi’s attempts to build a third-party e-commerce platform. RNDC separately settled with Provi earlier this year.

“Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits and Provi have reached a resolution in the litigation between our two organizations. Provi’s marketplace is now a permitted form of ordering for the Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits beverage alcohol portfolio,” said a joint statement from the companies.—Shane English
