Craft Spirits Sales Down 3% To $7.6 Billion Last Year

October 22, 2025

The American Craft Spirits Association (ACSA) reports that sales for craft spirits brands were down 6.1% by volume to 12.7 million cases and 3.3% by value to $7.58 billion in 2024, according to a new report from the ACSA and Park Street.

The losses, the groups note, came amid broader declines in spirits sales in the U.S., adding that volume decreases for craft brands were steeper due to consumers trading down to lower-priced products, many of them owned by multinational companies. The craft segment’s market share of spirits was steady at 7.5% in value terms but declined in volume terms.

Within the category, sales are split roughly evenly between home state and out-of-state sales, with out-of-state taking a slightly lead at 51.5%. Lately, however, craft producers have moved to concentrate resources on their home markets, the report added. Crucially, exports have cratered for craft brands, dropping by 120% to just 142,000 cases for 2024.—Shane English
