News Briefs for October 28, 2025
October 28, 2025•Hornitos Tequila, part of the Suntory Global Spirits portfolio, is unveiling a Reserve lineup with two new expressions, Hornitos Cristalino Reserve and Hornitos Añejo Reserve. The newcomers are packaged in a sleek, multi-faceted design. Both 100% agave Tequilas retail at $45 a bottle. The Cristalino Reserve is aged in American oak barrels and rests with whole vanilla beans from Veracruz, Mexico, for three weeks. The Añejo Reserve is matured in three different American oak barrels: a toasted barrel, then a charred barrel, and finally a specially toasted barrel to finish. The duo is rolling out to select markets with expanded distribution to follow. Hornitos was at 1.6 million cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank.
•Importer and distributor Quintessential has added Portuguese wine producer Aveleda to its California distribution portfolio. While the move will see Quintessential handle a number of Aveleda Vinho Verde and Alvarinho bottlings, its initial focus will be on distributing Aveleda Fonte White Vinho Verde and Casal Garcia Vinho Verde, both at 9.5% abv, with the former retailing for $11 and the latter for $10. Aveleda joins Quintessential’s portfolio of more than 50 wineries and two distilleries covering 12 countries around the world.
•Westland Whiskey, part of the Rémy Cointreau portfolio, has launched Garryana American Single Malt 10th Edition, the latest limited edition whiskey to be matured in the indigenous American oak variety. The 50% abv whiskey is 10 years old and matured primarily in first- and second-fill Garryana casks, with secondary maturation in Pedro Ximénez, rum, and Bourbon casks. A run of 4,608 700-ml. bottles is now available in select retailers nationwide for a suggested price of $150.
