- California’s Preiss Imports has purchased Ugly Mug Coffee Flavored Whiskey from New Wellington Brands. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Ugly Mug is bottled at 35% abv and carries a suggested price of $30. While distribution is currently limited, leadership at Preiss Imports says that the plan is to take the brand nationwide beginning in January 2026.
- Campari, in partnership with Milan-based Bocconi University, has created the Harvey Chaplin Chair in Distribution, Channel & Experience Management, honoring its namesake distribution pioneer and co-founder of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits. Professor Sandro Castaldo will serve as the first Chaplin Chair with research focused on marketing. “We are deeply honored by this incredible tribute to my father’s legacy,” said Wayne Chaplin, SGWS president and CEO. “His values of trust, respect, and commitment to excellence continue to guide our family and our company every day. This initiative reflects those same ideals and underscores the power of collaboration in advancing our industry.”
