News Briefs for November 4, 2025
November 4, 2025•When James B. Beam master distiller Fred Noe laid down barrels of Knob Creek’s flagship Bourbon in 2004, there wasn’t an expectation that a portion of them would rest in the warehouse for more than two decades. But as the whiskey matured and passed its baseline of 9 years old, the distilling team left some barrels from the lot untouched, buoyed by the results they were seeing. Finally, at 21 years old, the barrels were emptied and the Bourbon was bottled, to become the oldest whiskey that Knob Creek—or James B. Beam Distilling overall—has ever released. Whisky Advocate has the full story.
•Avaline, the organic wine brand from Cameron Diaz and Katherine Power, is introducing a new low-sugar, organic Prosecco. Retailing at $28 a bottle, the newcomer is debuting at select retailers and online through Avaline’s website. Also new from the brand is a 6-bottle holiday gift set including Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio, Prosecco, Pinot Noir, Lambrusco, and Chardonnay. It sells at $155 for the six bottles without the holiday gift box, or $165 including the gift box. Avaline earned Impact “Hot Brand” honors earlier this year after posting 50% growth to 214,000 cases in the U.S. in 2024.
