April 6, 2015•Anchor Brewing is launching its Anchor IPA in cans for the first time. The move marks the third of Anchor’s beers to be offered in cans, with the IPA joining the brewer’s California lager and limited-release Brotherhood Steam Beer in the format. Anchor IPA began shipping nationwide in six-packs of 12-ounce cans last month. The brewer adds that its IPA, which debuted in bottles and on draught a year ago, has gotten off to a fast start, and it expects the new canned packaging to help keep its strong momentum rolling.
•Connecticut-based Two Roads Brewing is entering the Philadelphia market this week, distributed by Muller Inc. Two Roads brews coming to Philadelphia will include double IPA Road 2 Ruin, No Limits Hefeweizen, Ol’ Factory Pils, Worker’s Comp Saison, session IPA Lil’ Heaven, Honeyspot Road White IPA, Unorthodox Russian Imperial Stout, barleywine 20 Ton, Russian imperial stout Igor’s Dream and Henry’s Farm, a traditional doppelbock. Two Roads’ distribution area also includes metro New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. In addition to local and regional breweries like Two Roads, Muller Inc. also distributes MillerCoors and Pabst products, among other national labels.
