Gruppo Campari has unveiled a new naming classification and packaging design on its core Appleton Estate Jamaican Rum line. The former Appleton Estate V/X has been renamed Appleton Estate Signature Blend, while Appleton Estate Reserve is now Appleton Estate Reserve Blend and Appleton Estate Extra 12 Year Old has been changed to Appleton Estate Rare Blend 12 Year Old. The names, packaging and liquids of Appleton’s higher-end offerings—Appleton Estate 21 Year Old and 50 Year Old—remain the same. The new packaging on the three core rums includes the signature of master blender Joy Spence on the caps, a watermark heart icon and a depiction of the Appleton estate on the label. The names of the variants are now located on the main label and year of founding is on the cartouche. The logo has been updated with “Crafted in the heart of Jamaica.” Campari acquired Appleton in its $415 million deal for Lascelles deMercado in early 2013.

•New York-based Domaine Select Wine Estates (DSWE) has added French vermouth brand La Quintinye to its Classic & Vintage artisanal spirits portfolio. Produced by EuroWineGate Spirits & Wine, La Quintinye Vermouth Royal is made with a blend of white wines from southwestern France, fortified wine and a variety of botanicals. The range features three expressions, including Vermouth Royal Rouge, Vermouth Royal Blanc and Vermouth Royal Extra-Dry, and is available in 350-ml. and 750-ml. formats, priced at $21.99 a 750-ml. In addition to La Quintinye DSWE also imports EuroWineGate’s G’Vine gin, Excellia Tequila and June Liqueur brands in the U.S.
