Maker’s Mark Offers Retailers “Private Select” Barrel Program
October 21, 2015Beam Suntory’s Maker’s Mark Bourbon has introduced a new Private Select barrel program, allowing retailers to age Maker’s Mark in a custom barrel and create a unique finish. Starting next month, participating retailers will travel to Maker’s Mark’s Kentucky distillery, where they will each select a combination of oak staves and create their own barrel. Fully-matured Maker’s Mark will then be aged in the barrels for an additional nine weeks, with the finished liquid set to be bottled at cask strength and sold by program participants beginning in March. The program, which will initially be available to Kentucky- and Illinois-based retailers this year, is expected to be expanded to more markets next year.
