November 3, 2015•California’s Firestone Walker Brewing Company has unveiled plans to expand its Paso Robles-based brewhouse. The project—which will include an extension to the brewer’s existing facility, upgraded equipment and new energy and water recovery systems—will be completed by 2017. According to Firestone Walker co-founder David Walker, the expansion comes as the brewery faces higher-than-expected demand, with Firestone’s home market of California currently accounting for around 80% of consumption.
•Anchor Brewing has released the 41st edition of its annual Christmas Ale. Billed as a dark spiced seasonal ale, Anchor’s Christmas Ale features a slightly different recipe each year, with this year’s iteration made with fewer spice notes and more hop flavors. The 2015 Anchor Christmas Ale will be available in six-packs and magnum bottles, as well as on draft, from early November through mid-January.
