Gallo Survey: Portable Packaging, Rosé’s Rise Among The Trends To Watch
December 9, 2015E&J Gallo Winery has released its 2015 Gallo Consumer Wine Trends Survey, with its findings including growing acceptance of portable packaging options and continuing strength among Millennials for the rosé segment. According to the report—which surveyed 1,000 wine consumers between the ages of 21-64—Millennials are nearly twice as likely to purchase rosé as Baby Boomers, with interest in the rosé category now running strong from April through September, rather than solely during traditional summer months.
The survey indicated rising demand for more convenient packaging formats, with 54% of respondents favoring boxed wine as a casual “go-to” option at home, and 32% of consumers stating interest in canned wines for outdoor drinking occasions.
