Craft Brewing And Distilling News for August 15, 2016
August 15, 2016•Boston’s Harpoon Brewery is rolling out its first new fall seasonal since 1989, Flannel Friday Hoppy Amber Ale. Featuring Cascade and Citra hops, the 5.7%-abv ale will replace Harpoon Octoberfest as the brewer’s fall seasonal. Octoberfest will still be available in limited quantities in September and October. Flannel Friday is available in six- and 12-packs of bottles, 12-packs of cans and on draft.
•Houston-based Saint Arnold Brewing is adding year-round brews Weedwacker and Endeavour Double IPA to its canned lineup. First introduced 18 months ago, the brewer’s year-round canned program also includes Fancy Lawnmower Beer and Santo. Saint Arnold’s canned beers have increased by 11% over the past six months, comprising almost one-third of its total packaged beer sales. Weedwacker is available in six-packs of 12-ounce cans, while Endeavour Double IPA is debuting in four-packs of 12-ounce cans throughout Texas, Louisiana and Florida. The year-round canned beers will remain on draft and replace the 12-ounce bottle format, but Endeavour will still be sold in 22-ounce bottles. Saint Arnold is also releasing cans of its Oktoberfest seasonal, replacing its Summer Pils.
•St. Louis-based O’Fallon Brewery is releasing four new pumpkin beers this fall in a seasonal variety 12-pack. The new offerings include Vanilla Pumpkin (5.5% abv), Jack O’Latte (6.6% abv), Apple Cinnamon Pumpkin (5.2% abv) and Peach Pumpkin (5.2% abv). Vanilla Pumpkin will also be sold in six-packs. In addition to the new beers, the company is also rolling out traditional fall seasonals O’Fallon Pumpkin Ale (six- and 12-packs of bottles and on draft), and Imperial Pumpkin (22-ounce bottles) throughout its Midwestern distribution footprint.
