August 19, 2016•Paso Robles, California’s Firestone Walker Brewing is rolling out its seasonal Oaktoberfest in a new canned format. The Märzen-style beer is brewed with German-sourced ingredients such as Vienna and Pilsner malts and Hallertau Tradition hops. Oaktoberfest is available in four-packs of 16-ounce cans throughout Firestone Walker’s distribution footprint. Firestone Walker merged with Duvel Moortgat USA last summer, to form a combined entity with volume of around 500,000 barrels.
•Asheville, North Carolina’s Hi-Wire Brewing is releasing two fall seasonals, Lion Tamer Rye IPA and Zirkusfest Oktoberfest Lager. Lion Tamer (7% abv) is brewed with rye and a blend of Citra and Amarillo hops. Zirkusfest (6% abv) is a traditional Märzen brewed with Munich malt. Both will be available in six-packs and on draft throughout the company’s distribution footprint. Hi-Wire is also introducing specialty beer Pumpkin Lager (6% abv) on draft and in 22-ounce bottles in limited distribution. It blends a traditional Vienna lager with pumpkin puree and fall spices such as cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and allspice.
