January 9, 2017•Nellysford, Virginia-based Bold Rock Hard Cider has reported sales of 45,000 barrels in 2016 on a 70% increase over the previous year. Bold Rock expects to produce 65,000 barrels this year following a recent expansion that brought its production capacity to 150,000 barrels. The company, which was founded in 2012, also cites recent IRI data that ranks it as the sixth-largest hard cider company in the U.S. Bold Rock is currently present in nine states and operates a $6 million production facility in Virginia and a second facility and taproom in Mills River, North Carolina. The company’s 12 styles of hard cider include popular entries Apple and Draft, with a rotating lineup of seasonals such as Peach and Blood Orange.
