May 30, 2017•London’s Beavertown Brewery and California’s Firestone Walker have partnered to release West Side Beavo, a collaborative India Pale Lager. The hoppy 6.5%-abv lager is a cross between a traditional lager and an IPA. The brewers used a combination of British and American hops, and lager yeast to create the new offering, which is intended to capture the beer-making traditions of both England and the U.S. West Side Beavo will be launched June 3, distributed in limited quantities in cans and on draft in the U.S. and U.K.
•Burlington, Vermont’s Citizen Cider is launching Companion, a limited-release sour cherry cider. Crafted from Montmorency and Balaton sour cherries sourced from Wayne County, New York, Companion will be available for $11 a four-pack of 12-ounce cans across the 10 states where Citizen Cider is currently distributed. Companion joins the Citizen Cider core lineup, which also includes Unified Press, The Dirty Mayor, The Lake Hopper and Wit’s Up offerings.
