June 9, 2017•Kansas City, Missouri’s Boulevard Brewing, part of Duvel Moortgat USA, is set to break ground on a $10 million expansion project that will allow the company to meet the growing demand for canned beers. Boulevard will construct a new 24,000-square-foot facility that will house the new canning line. At full production, the line will be able to process 350 (12-ounce) cans a minute. The brewery hopes to complete the project within a year.
•Paso Robles, California-based Firestone Walker Brewing Co. has unveiled Adversus, a limited edition Double IPA. Rolling out as part of Firestone Walker’s Leo v. Ursus Chronology series, Adversus is an unfiltered beer made with a blend of Pacific Northwest hops and traditional Pilsner malts. The 8.2%-abv brew will be available starting this month on draft and in four-packs of 16-ounce cans. Adversus marks the second release in the Leo v. Ursus Chronology, which showcases limited one-off beers on a quarterly basis.
