August 21, 2018•Rémy Cointreau-owned Westland Distillery will release the third iteration of its Garryana American Single Malt whiskey on September 8. The 56%-abv whiskey is distilled from a mash of 5-malt, Washington Select, and heavily peated malts before maturing in Garryana oak, new American oak, ex-Bourbon, ex-Port, and refill Westland casks. 1,638 bottles of Westland Garryana 2018 will be available across the U.S. at a suggested retail price of $150.
•Deschutes Brewery has collaborated with Bell’s Brewery to launch a new Schwarzbier in celebration of Deschutes’ 30th anniversary. The 6.4%-abv dark lager is made from a recipe developed by Bell’s production manager (and former Deschutes head brewer) Tom Gossack. The beer will roll out at the end of August throughout Bell’s and Deschutes’ distribution zones in 6-packs of 12-ounce cans and on draft.
