Craft Brewing and Distilling News for April 2, 2019
April 2, 2019•Pelican Brewing, of Pacific City, Oregon, has added two new beers to its year-round lineup: Fly’N Dry Brut IPA (6.7% abv) and Katch Kolsch-style Ale with Lemon (4.8% abv). Fly’N Dry is brewed with Hüll Melon and Citra hops to balance fruity and dry flavor profiles. Katch, meanwhile, uses Mandarina hops to put a fresh twist on a traditional German style. Both are available now in Pelican’s Pacific Northwest distribution area.
•Brooklyn, New York-based Sixpoint Brewery has reintroduced its Jammer line for the summer. First brewed in 2011, the original Jammer Gose (4% abv) will stick around after summer as a year-round release while spin-off Citrus Jammer (4% abv) will remain a seasonal. Joining them are three new varieties—Berry, Tropical, and Ruby, all 4% abv as well—that will be available in a mixed variety pack of 12-ounce cans. Intended for active lifestyle consumers, the line is being promoted with a partnership with outdoor retailer REI, which will lead classes and excursions in New York, like bouldering in Central Park and hiking in the Hudson Valley, to be followed with Jammer happy hours.
