•WhistlePig, the ultra-premium and luxury rye whiskey producer based in Shoreham, Vermont, has announced the release of 6-year-old PiggyBack Rye. Bottled at 96.6 proof, PiggyBack retails at $50 a 750-ml. and is initially launching in Illinois, Tennessee, Florida, Missouri, and Washington, D.C., though it is also available to most of the country via online purchase. PiggyBack, which is 100% rye, was developed by master distiller, Dave Pickerell, who passed away last year, in collaboration with WhistlePig’s master blender, Pete Lynch.
