News Alert: Remy Cointreau CEO Valerie Chapoulaud-Floquet To Step Down
July 9, 2019Remy Cointreau chief executive Valerie Chapoulaud-Floquet has announced that she will step down at the end of the year for personal reasons. In the meantime, Remy will search for her successor.
Chapoulaud-Floquet has helmed the French drinks group for five years, and is credited with furthering the company’s strategy of focusing on luxury spirits, centered on the flagship Remy Martin Cognac brand, which has been closing in on 1 million cases in the U.S. market.
Rémy Cointreau posted sales of $1.36 billion, up 7.8% on an organic basis, for its full fiscal year ended in March. Growth was driven by an 11.9% rise from the House of Rémy Martin division—which accounts for 70% of sales—and a 4% gain for its other spirits and liqueurs, which include Bruichladdich Scotch whisky, Cointreau liqueur, The Botanist gin, Metaxa brandy, Mount Gay rum, and Westland whiskies from Washington state.—Daniel Marsteller
