Wine Spectator’s Top 10 Countdown Continues
December 8, 2020Yesterday, Wine Spectator kicked off its annual countdown of the top 10 wines of the year. At No.-10 was Bollinger Brut Champagne La Grande Année 2012, a blend of two-thirds Pinot Noir, and one-third Chardonnay blend, sourced from premiers and grands crus vineyards. After blending and bottling for secondary fermentation, the 2012 aged in Bollinger’s cellars for six years before disgorgement in 2019.
Beaux Frères Pinot Noir Ribbon Ridge The Beaux Frères Vineyard 2018 was revealed as Wine Spectator’s No.9 wine of 2020. The winemaking consists of wild-yeast fermentation and the wine is aged one year in French oak, about 40% of which is new. Today, the magazine will unveil its No.-8 and No.-7 picks at top100.winespectator.com.
